50 million Americans have no insurance

50 million Americans have no insurance

by Mark Faviell Photos 50 million Americans have no insurance Hard to believe that, 17 years ago, the Clintons were talking about a health security card for every American. Today, health care is looking anything but secure.  Easy To Insure ME has the answers A report released this week by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention calculates that 50 million Americans ages 18 to 64 and surveyed between January and March went without health insurance for at least part of the past year. More than half of them had no usual source of medical care. Among adults with at least one disability and no insurance, 61 percent said they had skipped or delayed recommended medical care in the past year due to concern about cost. But so did 16 percent of disabled adults with health coverage. For those who have insurance, particularly through an employer, the costs are going up, either through a bigger share of higher premiums or bigger deductibles, co-payments and other cost-sharing, and usually both. And a survey of employer health benefits for 2010 released in September showed that workers on average are paying nearly $ 4,000 a year toward the cost of family coverage that carried a total average tab of $ 13,770 (3 percent more than in 2009), and that workers were contributing 14 percent more than what they paid in 2009. More than a quarter of all covered workers now must pay deductibles of $ 1,000 or more, with almost half of workers at smaller firms (under 200 workers) under such plans. The survey, done for the Kaiser Family Foundation and...

As part of this effort, IBHS and State Farm are studying hailstorms in the Central Plains region in an attempt to better understand the characteristics of damaging hail, which depends on size, density and hardness of hailstones. Objectives of the field study include: quantify natural hailstone hardness, by evaluating the compressive force required to fracture a hailstone; deploy a ruggedized, unmanned camera probe to capture high-definition video of hail falling within storms to study hailstone trajectories and spatial coverage; and examine radar and environmental data to develop relationships between those data fields and the characteristics of fallen hailstones. The field study will provide valuable data and insights for shaping ongoing work at the IBHS Research Center. IBHS will evaluate the hardness and density of natural hailstones in order to accurately manufacture artificial hailstones at the IBHS Research Center. Previous IBHS field study data were used when the Institute recreated a full-scale indoor hailstorm at the IBHS Research Center in February 2013. As IBHS collects additional data from natural hailstorms, this information will enable IBHS engineers to continue to appropriately recreate and analyze the impact of hail on buildings and specimens tested at the IBHS Research Center. Severe thunderstorms frequently are accompanied by hailstorms. As population density...

A few nice car insurance images I found: 100 Deadliest Days of Summer 6-1-17 Image by CA Dept of Insurance Citing new AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety research about teens and distracted driving, the California Department of Insurance, LAPD and the Automobile Club of Southern California today warned that new teen drivers ages 16-17 years old are three times as likely as adults to be involved in a deadly crash. Brocket Park Image by Jayembee69 The current hall was built in 1760 and was the home of William Lamb, 2nd Viscount Melbourne, who was the Prime Minister three times between 1834 and 1841. Melbourne has the distinction of being the last Prime Minister to be dismissed by the monarch (King William IV in 1834) but returned to office the following year and from 1837 became Queen Victoria’s first Prime Minister, mentor and friend. Queen Victoria was a regular visitor to the Hall during this time. Melbourne’s wife (who died in 1828, before he came to office) was Lady Caroline Lamb. Her affair with Lord Byron in 1812 caused Melbourne considerable embarrassment. To celebrate one of Byron’s birthdays, Lady Caroline held a banquet in the Saloon at the Hall. For a surprise course, she arranged for herself to be served naked from a large silver dish. In 1824, the shock to Lady Caroline of her chancing upon Byron’s funeral procession as it passed Brocket Park (on the way back to his home village of Hucknall Torkard in Nottinghamshire) is said to have caused her to become mentally deranged (getting publicly naked on the dining table was considered reasonable behaviour at...
Photography Studio Guide

Photography Studio Guide

by Internet Archive Book Images Photography Studio Guide There are various factors which could help an individual in establishing such heights of photographic excellence. While some of these factors are given their due relevance like the photographers camera to mention one, there are some others which stay in the background of the photographers list of priority but play an extremely vital role in the clicking of high quality pictures. One such integral part, in the process of photography, is a photography studio. THE RELEVANCE OF A PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO Whether you are a small time photographer or a professional company into the business of clicking memories, it is always important to rationalize the cost that you are incurring. However, one will not want to compromise on the picture either. That is where the concept of studio photography, helps photographers to accomplish both feats at once. A photography studio can provide an illusion of the real presence of various sought after destinations of the world right within the four walls of the studio. The illusion is created by effective 2D or 3D photographs, in front of which the model is required to pose. Its completeness has been proved over times through various snaps which have been clicked through the cameras of some established and high acclaimed camera men. Not only are studios restricting themselves to location photography, also known as location studios, they also provide blank solid coloured backgrounds for the photographers to use for photographs. Such clicks, with solid coloured backgrounds, are used for different purposes all over the world. PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO HIRE The next question that arises is the...
