Auto Glass Repair And Safety

Auto Glass Repair And Safety

by Cary Lee Auto Glass Repair And Safety An improperly or poorly installed windshield or other vehicle glass is not a bargain, regardless of the cost. Your vehicle’s windshield is a key component in accident safety. When it needs to be replaced, be aware that an improperly installed replacement can contribute to passenger airbag failure, and increases the chance of roof collapse in a roll-over. A professionally installed modern windshield protects occupants in more ways than many people realize, it is MUCH more than a barrier against the weather. These days, a windshield is a key component in the structural integrity and safety of the passenger compartment, not just a wind screen. An unsafe windshield, one that is not installed properly or has been damaged by debris, can certainly cause unnecessary personal injury or even death. If the windshield separates from the vehicle in an accident, the lives of those inside are immediately at far greater risk of injury. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports over 40,000 Americans are killed and over 5 million injured every year in highway accidents. Over 30 percent of the fatalities occur when vehicle occupants are either ejected from the vehicle, or injured during rollovers. Windshields are intended to keep occupants inside the vehicle. The windshield also supports the roof thereby preserving the structural integrity of the passenger compartment and keeping it from collapsing and crushing driver and passengers. The danger here is that insurance companies are always looking to cut costs. You may ask, how does that affect me? Windshields, safety belts, airbags and other safety feature should never fall victim to...
Save Money With Auto Repair Manuals

Save Money With Auto Repair Manuals

by photo Save Money With Auto Repair Manuals Let’s get one thing straight right from the start: I’m not trying to be a full-blown mechanic here. Although I enjoy working on my own cars, I don’t think this is something I could do day in and day out for the rest of my life. I just want to be able to fix a few common problems that are likely to occur as my vehicles age. Having a couple of auto repair manuals on hand to refer to will help ensure that I do things the right way, and lessen the chances of inadvertently making things worse. There are actually a lot of auto repair manuals out there, so I had to do a bit of research to figure out which ones were worth buying. I learned that Haynes auto repair manuals are very popular with do-it-yourself mechanics, and have been a trusted source of information for more than 50 years now. These books contain thorough, step-by-step instructions for how to do all types of repairs on particular vehicles, and even include numerous photographs, illustrations, and diagrams to make things as clear and understandable as possible. Chilton auto repair manuals are another highly trusted product. Chilton guides have been around even longer than Haynes, and contain the same great information for repairing both old and new cars alike. Some of their auto repair manuals are even available on CD or DVD, which some people find preferable to paper books. There are other brands of auto repair manuals available as well, but for my purposes I think I’m going to stick...

Unfortunately, many people would rather just go to the dealer instead of fussing with the headache of finding a trustworthy and affordable auto repair shop in Denver. Contrary to some people’s beliefs, there are in fact quality auto repair shops here in Denver that offer competitive pricing and excellent service. There are definitely certain things to take a look at when trying to find the best Denver auto repair shop for you. Here are the top things to look for: – Experience: Just like anything else, repairing cars is a skill which is refined with time. As they experience more and more scenarios and solutions over years, good mechanics are better equipped to handle any situation that should arise. Also, an auto repair shop wouldn’t have a long history is it didn’t provide competitive and trustworthy service. – Customer Service: How you are treated by your mechanic is extremely important. If you are going to put your money and trust into a shop to fix your car, then you should receive excellent, loyal service in return. The repair shop is not doing you a favor, you are doing them a favor by giving them your business… A good mechanic will know that, and treat you accordingly. – Competitive Pricing: A great Denver shop can offer dealership quality service at a fraction of the price. Especially in today’s trying economy, the consumer will be drawn to affordable prices. When dealing with their cars, nobody wants...
